Yellow Fever...the good kind!

American : Apple Pie :: Indian : Mango Lassi. India is by far the largest producer of mangoes with >40% of global production. (Below is a pic from my family's ancestral town, Guntur, famous for its Mangoes).

Alas, Mango season is very short--only Mid-March through May. As the season is fast approaching, Mango fever has taken over many of my friends in India. See some facebook comments (identities blocked out failbooking style).

  1. There is a mango tree in the backyard of one of the my NGO's properties. We saw the baby mangoes the other day, fist sized and bright green! Almost as cute as the baby chickens that the guard is now keeping in the living room... (I guess no one else is living there... why not?!)
